Apologies for neglecting my blog recently. Here’s a run down of why.
After we left Airlie Beach we headed to Cairns and it was pretty exciting to be back in our ‘home town’. I thought we’d have heaps of time to stroll the streets of Cairns, enjoy the free Lagoon and get ourselves and the boat ready for full time cruising once our time here was done.
In July I found out about a gut health program that a friend of mine was doing and she had dropped a bunch of weight as a result. Not only that but she was keeping it off too. As I already knew her and respected her it wasn’t too much of a stretch to take the leap and do it myself. I’d always been heavy and by July I’d gotten to 80kg. At 5’2″ that was not good. I was miserable about it and it affected everything I did from walking with the girls to simply getting up off the floor. I used to take paracetamol, ibuprofen, antacids, st johns wort, valerian, glucosamine and so on regularly. I knew something had to change so I took the leap and ordered my products. Then I prepared for yet another battle with my bulge.
Well the results have been simply incredible. Since I started I’ve done a few rounds of the program and I’ve lost 16kg so far. I’ve 4 more kg to go to get to my goal. That’s 35.2 lbs gone. I haven’t done any more exercise than I do normally, I haven’t taken shakes or meal replacements. I’m teaching our girls how to eat right and showing them that it’s not weight that’s important, buy focussing on health.
The main reason you haven’t heard from me though is that I’m now mentoring others on the program too. If you’re interested to see what I’ve been up to and follow my progress then please feel free to join my Facebook support group. There’s no pressure from me to join, I’m just sharing what’s worked so well for me and for others too. The Skipper will be starting the program in November too (apparently he’s still working on his before photo – or so he says!)
In the meantime we are doing amazingly!
The girls have decided they like a more formal approach to their schooling so have come up with their own program with a timetable and everything. If you follow my instagram feed you’ll know that they even designed their own school uniform. It’s so cute! They are still following their interests but they are enjoying a bit more structure than normal. I still call it unschooling though as I don’t tell them what to learn, only facilitate.
Oh and watch this space!
I know I keep saying we’re going to be cruising soon etc well it’s actually happening really soon now! The skipper is about a week or so away from finishing work as we speak. When he finishes we are free as birds. So please get in touch and let me know where all the kid boats are! Now that I’m running a little business on the water the Skipper will be taking a more active role in the girl’s education so I’m expecting more navigation and engineering to come into play too.
The hilarious part is not only do we not know where we want to go, but we really don’t care! Anywhere will do for now. I fancy Lizard Island for a couple weeks! What do you think?
Take care everyone!
