If you follow our Instagram Page you might have seen a little video I posted in February of the girls jumping off the side of the boat into the water.. What I was filming was actually THEM being filmed. (watch the trailer here..) 60 Minutes (Australia) approached us to be a part of an episode on travelling families. If you watch this Sunday at 1900 EST you will be able to see where we live and a bit of an incite into how we do what we do.
We spent a day with the 60 Minutes crew on board filming their Travelling Families episode. We did a tour of the interior of our Lagoon400 catamaran with Tara Brown where I showed her the differences between living on a boat and what might be normal on land. The girls were also filmed snorkelling and enjoying life on board. There was some discussion about how we educate and they filmed the girls filling in some math books but obviously this was just for the show, as we prefer unschooling now and math books are such a small part of what we do!
Sailing the dream…
There was also a day where a drone operator come on to film us under sail. That is the footage I am excited to see! We really want to get hold of a drone so if anyone out there can recommend one please do!
The episode includes two other travelling families who have taken to the road as well.
I hope it’s helpful to those just starting out who think they might be ready to ‘take the leap!’
Just do it!
